PRANASSAGE
REFLEXOLOGY
Please scroll down for details...
What is PRANASSAGE?
Pranassage is a yoga practice that uses gravity in assisted postures. During the session the student remains in a deeply relaxed state. The teacher takes the student into various yoga postures: by lifting student’s legs, arms, twisting him/her and stretching the body. Because the student is relaxed and passive, there is no contraction in the muscles – and this enables the student to go further into the postures. Some postures require the student to respond to pressure by pushing against the teacher, so from time to time – there is some active work. This keeps the student more present, as it is very possible to fall asleep during the session.
The benefits of pranassage are first and foremost – very deep sense of grounding and relaxation. This practice is beneficial for our skeletal structure, and helps prevent osteoporosis. It balances blood pressure, shifts the student out of place of stress, calms the heart. The session leaves one feeling “stretched out”. Some people report feeling more confident and secure, deeply rested, rejuvenated, and calm.
Pranassage can be done with a complete novice as well as with an advanced yoga practitioner. The student’s body will guide the depth of the work. It is a full contact practice, which means that there is a lot of physical contact between the teacher and the student. The teacher will use her arms, legs, and even full body, to apply pressure in certain postures.

FEEDBACK:
"Pranassage with Alex is an almost indescribably unique sensory experience that can play a significant role in body healing and harmonizing the body with the mind. It is a creative synthesis of massage techniques, yoga's breathing and stretching and interactive manipulation that produces deep relaxation and mindfulness as Alex moves your body. . Alex is a nurturing body therapy practitioner (coach/personal trainer), who utilizes a holistic approach, taking the time to understand the individual needs of her client's physically, intellectually, emotionally and spiritually. If you are looking for an engaging activity that awakens a greater awareness of your body while quietening the mind, Pranassage may be what you need. No previous experiences are necessary." Pranassage can be done once, as a treat. It can be done on a regular basis, just like massage therapy would be done on a regular basis.
It takes a little time to start moving after the session, so please budget at least an hour and a half of your time.
Sessions take place at the Regent Health Centre, 150 Locke Street, in Hamilton. Alternatively, sessions can be conducted at a student’s home. Home visits are by referral only.
To book your session please e-mail info@yogawithalex.com, or call 905-962-YOGA (9642).
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to ask. It is my pleasure to introduce pranassage to this part of the world. I am looking forward to hearing from you.

Valentina’s hands are amazing, by the end of the treatment – I was in a different body… my aches and pains, my tiredness, heaviness were gone… Not to be missed!
Betsy
I love the way Valentina works with the hands and the head. By the time she got to my feet – I was deeply relaxed and very receptive. I slept for several hours following the treatment.
Michael
I loved it! I didn’t even know I had that much tension in my body. Even though the pressure points hurt – I felt I could fly afterwards. Thank you!!!
